General Membership
To qualify as an ODPH member, you must meet both of the following:
- Be a Registered Dietitian (RD) in Ontario (i.e. registered by the College of Dietitians of Ontario),
AND
- Be employed in one of the following:
- A municipal, provincial, or federal public health agency (e.g. Ontario Public Health Unit) or
- A university with community nutrition programs, and be responsible for:
- the education of nutrition students, or
- conducting community or public health nutrition research
Membership Rates
- Full-time: $120
- Part-time (17.5 hours or less): $60
- Retired: $120
- Interim: $120
The membership year is July 1st to June 30th. ODPH does not offer any refunds, pro-rated or transferrable memberships between members. If an online payment is received for a membership that does not meet eligibility criteria, a full refund will be provided. Questions or problems with online enrollment? Contact Us and we’ll be happy to assist you. Renewal is available from July 2 to August 31st for the 2025-2026 year.
Additional Membership Classes
Retired Membership
For members who are no longer working full-time but still wish to stay involved. Criteria:
- Must maintain membership with the College of Dietitians of Ontario (CDO)
- Must have been a previous ODPH member
- Must currently be volunteering or working in public health or with ODPH
- Application must be reviewed and approved by ODPH Executive
Interim Membership
For dietitians seeking public health employment. Criteria:
- Must be a Registered Dietitian (RD) in Ontario
- Must be actively seeking employment in public health
- Application must be reviewed and approved by ODPH Executive
- Eligible for a maximum of two years
Your registration will be reviewed, and you will receive a link to join once we confirm you are eligible for membership
Please note:
- The membership year is July 1st to June 30th.
- ODPH does not offer refunds*, pro-rated or transferrable memberships between members.
- Once paid, memberships remain valid and active for the duration of the membership year, including if a member resigns, retires, changes employers or is on leave.
- *Note – if a payment is received for a membership that does not meet eligibility criteria, a full refund will be made.
