This free, interactive two-hour online course is designed to empower Ontario child care professionals who are passionate about supporting the healthy growth, development, and well-being of young children. It draws directly on the provincial Child Care Menu Planning Practical Guide and other child care resources developed by Ontario Dietitians in Public Health (ODPH) to offer you practical, and helpful evidence-informed strategies to support your everyday practice when working alongside children and their families.
Participants will explore how to:
- Plan nutritious, appealing, and developmentally appropriate menus that reflect current best practices in child health and nutrition
- Implement responsive feeding practices and role modelling to support children’s hunger and fullness cues and encourage positive mealtime experiences
